The Brix Six: aquired from a neighborhood wine shop called Brix- on the corner of Washington and Savoy in the South End. I just stumbled upon (but not literally) their signature invention: a Six Pack of Wine! which I’m fairly confident is the classiest six pack I’ve ever brought home, not counting the time I rented the Total Gym instructional video - snap! – Chuck Norris! Back to Brix, 75 bucks gets you 6 different bottles of wine- all new to the store- and chosen for a specific theme. The April Brix Six theme is “Sips of Spring” and each Six comes with a handy little guide that they call a “diploma” which gives you the rundown on each bottle.
And, I learned something new, which I’m sure a lot of you who aren’t wine-challenged like me already know: Turns out that rosé wines are made with the same grapes as reds (and I’m a red wine kind of girl) but they peel the skins off earlier in the process- the skins are where all the color comes from. So rosés are more like red than white. The upside of a rosé over a red is that it can be chilled, so it’s perfect for when the weather gets warmer.
